Traveling with allergies

At airBaltic, your safety is the most important to us. We understand that flying with allergies can be stressful, and we’re here to help.

Planning Your Flight

If you have food allergies, it’s important to plan ahead:

  • Allergens may be present: Our food may contain allergens like milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, nuts, wheat, soy, and sesame. See full list here;
  • Bring your own safe food, especially if you have strong allergies;.
  • Request a special meal when booking or 48h before the flight – we’ll try our best to adapt to your needs. For more details on available meals, allergens, and pre-ordering options, please see our Inflight meals page.

If you are allergic to pets (like cats or dogs), please note that we cannot promise a pet-free cabin.

  • Other passengers may bring animals on board, especially small dogs in carriers or service dogs.
  • If you have allergies, take steps to protect yourself—such as taking your allergy medicine before the flight and keeping it with you during the trip.

At the airport

  • Bring cleaning wipes to wipe down your seat area;.
  • Keep allergy medicine in your carry-on, not in checked luggage.

During the flight

  • We can't guarantee an allergen-free cabin – other passengers may bring their own food, bring their pets inside the cabin.
  • In case of strong allergy please tell a flight attendant before the flight.

Our crew can:

  • Ask nearby passengers not to eat certain foods (but they can’t force them);
  • Help if you have an allergic reaction
    (Note: They can’t give medication – always keep yours with you).
  • Offer to re-seat you if there are free seats on the plane.

You can wipe down:

  • Tray table;
  • Seat belt;
  • Armrests;
  • Window area.

After the flight

  • Check for allergic symptoms, even if small.
  • Get medical help if needed – tell airport staff or call emergency services.
  • Share feedback if there’s anything we could do better.
